日本代购-※沖縄県、離島には配送することができません。 《結晶塗料の成り立ち》 ファミリーカーからプレミアムセダンまで、最近の自動車のエンジンルームは樹脂カバーで覆い尽くされていることも多いですが、一昔前のスポーティーカーや輸入車では、ヘッドカバーやインテークマニホールド、サージタンクなどが結晶仕上げであることがハイパフォーマンスの象徴でした。 トヨタや日産など、1970〜80年代の国産スポーツモデルでは、結晶塗装のツインカムヘッドカバーが憧れの対象となっていたほどです。 結晶塗装はボンネットフードで隠されるクルマ用のエンジンのみならず、オートバイのエンジンヘッドカバーやクランクケースカバーにも採用されており、バイク好きにも注目されています。 《結晶塗装の特徴》 結晶塗装の第一の特長は意匠性の高さです。 ガンコートのように放熱性が向上したり、パウダーコートのような塗膜の強さもありません。一液タイプなので溶剤は苦手です。しかし見た目の良さだけではなく、シリンダーヘッドカバーに施工した場合エンジンの静粛性向上が期待できる場合があるのです。 これは結晶塗装を使用したユーザー様からの報告ですが、まだらに剥がれたヘッドカバーの純正結晶塗装を塗り替える際、いったん剥離してバフがけしたところ、ヘッド周りから聞こえるタペット音が剥離前より耳障りになったというのです。 そして次に私たちの結晶塗料でリペイントしたところ、気になる音は剥離前のレベルに戻ったそうです。 《塗装方法について》 専用の焼付道具を準備するほどではないと躊躇される方の中には、ストーブの上に置いて工業用ドライヤーで炙ったりー、18リットルの一斗缶や20リットルのペール缶にドライヤーの熱を送風して加熱するなど、独自のアイデアで焼付環境を整備している方もいます。 いずれの場合でも、美しい縮れ模様に仕上げるにはパーツ各部で温度のムラがないよう均一に加熱することが重要です。 焼付温度が低いとちぢみ模様ができませんが、温度管理ができない自作道具で焼付温度が上がりすぎると塗装面のツヤが無くなり、黒っぽく仕上がります。 黒色の塗料は変化に気づきづらいですが、赤をオーバーベイクすると鮮やかさがなくなり色味は暗くなります。ただし、これをテクニックとして利用すれば、暗めの赤で仕上げたい時は指定温度より高めで焼き付ければよいと言うことになります。 もうひとつ応用テクニックとして、樹脂への結晶塗装施工方法があります。 基本的に金属パーツへの使用を前提としているため、焼付乾燥温度は120℃としていますが、実際には90℃前後から徐々に塗膜が縮み始めています。 樹脂の種類にもよりますが、100℃以下なら変形や変質しないことを前提にこの特性を利用すれば、樹脂パーツへの結晶塗装が可能となります。 焼付温度が低い分時間を長めに設定して（所要時間はパーツによって異なるので、焼付中に小まめな確認が必要です）エンジンルーム内の樹脂カバーや運転席のダッシュボードを施工した事例もあり、通常の塗装では出せないちぢみ模様がカスタムテイストを演出していました。
