日本代购-日本の国民病「高血圧」対策の決定版 矢澤一良　著　文庫サイズ・48頁 まえがき　——　脳卒中、心臓病、糖尿病、更年期障害、痴呆症に効果 いま多くの日本人は、飽食および運動不足、さらには複雑となった社会のストレスも加わって、心身が非常にあやうい状態にあります。 「生活習慣病」の増加は、その最たる事象といえます。 生活習慣病は、主に日本の三大死因、がん、心臓病、脳卒中を指します。 かつてこれらの病気は、中高年層に圧倒的に多かったことから、“成人病”と呼ばれていました。 しかし、近年では若い世代にも罹患者が拡大し、またその発生が生活習慣に起因している場合が多いことから、1992年に厚生省（現厚生労働省）が生活習慣病の呼び名を提唱。 これはわが国の「予防医学」政策の転換を示す象徴的なできごとでもありました。 従来、日本の予防医学は、早期発見、早期治療という、いわば病気が発症してから対策を講じる二次予防に主眼が置かれていました。 しかし、それでは一向に成人病は減らないばかりか、社会の高齢化で年々急増し、医療費の負担が国庫を脅かすまでに至っているのはご存知のとおりです。 そこで、病気の発症そのものを未然に防ぐ「一次予防」の徹底が重視されるようになりました。 この一次予防を実現するには、これまでのようなすべて医者まかせの医療ではなく、私たち一人ひとりが責任をもって自らの健康を管理していくことが不可欠です。 そうした自覚を喚起する一つの方策として、生活習慣病の呼び名が示されたのです。 私（矢澤）は現在、東京水産大学において、そうした一次予防に役立つ食品、すなわち「ヘルスフード」に関する研究をしております。 今回はその一環として、いま日本の国民病となっている高血圧対策に有効な「ギャバ」という食品成分を紹介したいと思います。 高血圧は、生活習慣病のなかの心臓病および脳卒中の重大な発症因子です。 ことに高血圧に、高血糖、高脂血症、そして肥満が加わると「死の四重奏（Deadly Quartet）」と呼ばれ、致死率がきわめて高くなることが知られています。 この恐ろしい四重奏を一気に払拭するうえで、ギャバは大変有効です。 詳しくは本文で紹介しますが、ギャバは高血圧はもとより、高血圧に併発しやすい高血糖、高脂血症、肥満のいずれに対しても、その予防と改善に有利に働くのです。 さらに、現代人に増えている精神不安や痴呆症を退けるうえでも、ギャバが大きな助けになることが明らかになっています。 今後の高齢化社会をすこやかに生きる原動力として、ぜひギャバを上手に役立てていただきたいと思います。 目　次　—— 第1章　ギャバってどんな物質なの？ 　　　・神経の興奮を抑える「癒やし系」物質 　　　・ギャバの効果は厚生省のお墨付き 　　　・食品由来のギャバの幅広い効果 　　　〈コラム〉食事でとったギャバは、本当に脳へ届くのか 第2章　高血圧対策に最適 　　　・高血圧は寿命を縮める恐ろしい病気 　　　・ギャバは高血圧にここまで効く 　　　・ギャバの摂取で「血圧が下がった」 　　　・血圧を正常化する3つのしくみ 第3章　こんな症状にもギャバを 　　　・脳卒中の予防と回復にも奏効する 　　　・血管を若く保って、心臓を守る 　　　・糖尿病の食事療法にもおすすめ 　　　・更年期障害、初老期の精神不安に 　　　・痴呆症対策にもうってつけの効果 　　　・アルコールで弱った肝臓を元気にする 　　　・健康的なダイエットの強い味方 　　　・そのほかこんな症状にも効果的 　　　　　ストレス／頭がよくなる／腎臓病 第4章　ギャバの上手な摂取法 　　　・日常の食事では十分に補給できない 　　　・ギャバを豊富に含む食品が続々登場 【ハート出版ふるさと文庫】高血圧はギャバ（GABA）で治す
