Dabei spielt der historische Film heute eine nicht zu untersch?tzende Rolle bez?glich des Bildes, welches wir uns von der Vergangenheit machen, weshalb er auch in der Geschichtsschreibung zunehmend wahr- beziehungsweise ernst genommen wird. Der historische Film erm?glicht also auch eine Interpretation der Geschichtsauffassung, welche zur Zeit seiner Entstehung vorherrschte und bietet somit einen Zugang zu kulturhistorischen Untersuchungen. In dieser Arbeit soll also eine kulturhistorische Betrachtung des Gr?ndungsmythos der italienischen Nation in seinem Wandel, anhand von italienischen Spielfilmen ?ber das Risorgimento, gewagt werden. Zun?chst wird ein ?berblick ?ber den Stand der Forschung und der hier verwendeten Literatur gegeben. Es folgt eine Diskussion ?ber (kultur-) historische Relevanz des Mediums Film, sowie eine Genrebestimmung des historischen Films. Sodann wird, nach einem ?berblick ?ber Risorgimento-Filme im Allgemeinen, exemplarisch auf einzelne Filme eingegangen. So f?r den Beginn des Kinos LA PRESA DI ROMA (Filiteo Alberini, 1905) und f?r den Faschismus unter Mussolini '1860' (Alessandro Blasetti, 1934) . Diese beiden Filme repr?sentieren eine bestimmte Erz?hltradition, mit welcher in den 1960er gebrochen wurde.
