日本代购-当店は正規代理店です。すべて正規品、新品、未使用品です。展示品、アウトレット品であっても、ご購入日からメーカー正規保証がつきます。ご希望がない限り納品書を同梱しておりませんので、ご購入時のメールなど保管をお願いいたします。アウトドア用品はご使用を目的とした方への販売となります。こちらの商品は、展示品です。少しお安くしておりますので、下記の点をご了承ください。すべて新品未使用ですが、展示の際に使用に差し支えない小さなキズや汚れがつく場合があります。使用に差し支えないキズが理由のご返品の場合、お客様都合(送料お客様負担)になります。気になる方はご購入前にお問い合わせください。現物を確認し、必要があれば画像などで詳細をお知らせいたします。使用に差し支える不具合(レンズのキズや破損など)は当店都合(送料当店負担)でのご返品対応をさせていただきます。化粧箱のキズや汚れは当店対応外です。ご容赦ください。以下、メーカーホームページより改良点を熱く語る佐々木大輔さん。はじめてモチヅキ・スノーソーを手にしたのはいつ頃ですか？　「たしか2001年23歳のとき、はじめてデナリ（マッキンリー山）へいったときだったと思います。北海道の秀岳荘を尋ねたら『雪を切るならこれだよ』っておすすめされて。ベースキャンプを張るときに風除け用のブロックを作るために、これと海外製のスノーソーを2本、計3本デナリへ持っていきました。これがもう抜群に調子良くて。猛吹雪のなかで氷みたいに硬いカッチカチの雪を切るときに、ほかのモデルとくらべて仕事量が2倍ありましたね」それから雪山キャンプでは欠かせない道具になっていったのですね。　「約10年前に南極観測隊の一員として南極へいきました。氷を研究する学者さんたちと一緒だったんですが、彼らもみんなこれを持っていました。硬い雪を効率よく切るにはこれが一番だと。一番びっくりしたのは、2017年のデナリ大滑走のときです。アラスカにデナリ遠征をサポートするガイド会社が何社かあるんですけど、彼らもみんなこれを使っていたんです。もっとも標高が高く厳しいハイキャンプへいくと、ショベルやスノーソーをデポしてあるところがあって、よく見るとスノーソーの8割がこれ。硬い雪を切る状況下では絶大なる信頼があるんです」　海外でも認知されているとは驚きました。でも、なぜ海外には同じようなスノーソーがないのでしょう？プローブやショベルと同じ長さにすることで、携行性を向上させた。　「このスノーソーは、日本を代表する金物の街、燕三条の金物加工技術があってこそ生まれた道具だからです。元祖モチヅキ・スノーソーは、ノコギリ職人の手によって、歯を左右交互に曲げる加工＝アサリを導入しています。このアサリによって、氷を刻み、氷を掻き出す効率を飛躍的に向上させています。冷蔵庫がない時代に氷を切り売りする氷屋さんのために作られた刃物を応用したギアなのです」　ノコギリ職人の高齢化と減少によって、生産拠点が燕三条から中国へ移りました。それでもなお、モチヅキ・スノーソーはこれまでの使いやすさ、機能を引き継いでいます。具体的に改良点を教えてください。　「旧モデルは、日常的にザックに入れて持ち歩くには長すぎたので、ザックのなかで収まりがよいサイズにしました。プローブやショベルなどと一緒にパッキングできる長さです。スノーソーは雪山ですぐにぱっと出して使いたいギアなので、すぐに取り出せる点は大事です」左が旧モデル、右が復刻版。ハンドルは短く、すっぽ抜けを防ぐ形状に。　ハンドルも少し短くなったようですが？　「ハンドルのベースとなる部分は、そんなに変えていません。ただ、ハンドルの末端、小指の近いところに凸をつけ、ひっかかりを設けました。冬山で長い時間硬い雪を切っていると、握力がなくなって、グローブが濡れて、すっぽ抜けることが多々あります。そのすっぽ抜けをここで止める。大きなオーバーミトンでも歯に触れることなく、力強く握れる絶妙なサイズに仕上げています。あと、ハンドルの厚さは旧モデルよりもちょっと薄くしています。雪山で厚いグローブをしたときに、グリップが太いと力を入れにくく、握力がないと握れないことがあります。薄くすることで握力を温存できるというか。ハンドルだけでも3、4回サンプルを作り直しましたね」分厚いグローブで長時間握り続ける過酷な環境下を想定して開発された。　仕事量が群を抜いているステンレス製の刃について、教えてください。　「ステンレスの板をバチンと切っただけではなく、アサリをつけて、なおかつ1歯1歯の先端を鋭く削ることで、切れ味を生んでいます。一般的なスノーソーって目が細かいノコギリ状のモデルが多いですよね？でも、これは歯が深く、かつアサリがあるので雪を多く排出できます。柔らかい雪ならノコギリ状のモデルでも事足りるけど、雪が硬ければ硬いほどこれが生きてくる。残雪期のカチンカチンの硬い氷で他のメーカーと試してみれば一目瞭然。仕事量がぜんぜん違います」新モデルの先端は歯を細かくして、切りはじめのきっかけをつくる。　旧モデルは先端が丸くなっているのに対して、復刻モデルは先端まで歯がついていますね。　「硬い雪に対して最初のとっかかりをつくりたかったので、突端まで歯をつけました。厳しい環境下で少しでも作業が捗はかどるようにギリギリまで攻めました。逆に手元に一番近い歯はいらなかったかもしれませんね。グローブを傷つけるし、ここまで引くことはないでしょうから。ぼくはこの歯をカットしようと思っています」　刃に刻まれたメジャーにはどんな意味があるのでしょう？　「最大30センチの長さを測ることができます。30センチというのは雪のコンプレッションテストをするときの規格です。先端には雪の結晶の大きさを測るメジャー付き。弱層になりやすい結晶か？くっつき始めている結晶か？結晶のサイズ、カタチを観察する際に役立つギミックです」　監修者として、使用上の注意点はありますか？　「雪崩対策道具として考えたとき、注意点がひとつあって、たとえばデブリの中に木の枝が混ざっていたとき。雪を切る道具なので、枝を切る能力はありません。だから、ぼくはコンパクトなノコギリを1本持っていきます。あくまでも雪を切ることにフォーカスを当てた道具ということです」　この英語のメッセージは、なんですか？　「よくぞ聞いてくれました。これが一番重要（笑）。これはDon’t cut yellow snow! という刻印。Don’t eat yellow snow!というのが北米でよく言われる原型で、ションベンかかっている雪を食うなという意味。それでは直接すぎるから、切るなよと、置いとけよと（笑）。雪を切って溶かして、その水飲むなよと。衛生面への配慮も忘れていない気がきく逸品に仕上げました」
