日本代购-70～80年代に大ヒットしたアメリカの白バイ警官TVシリーズ「白バイ野朗ジョン&パンチ」で有名なカリフォルニア・ハイウェイ・パトロールが使用する制式リボルバーがなんとモデルガンで登場です。 実際のハイウェイにおける犯人の追跡、逮捕は危険きわまりなく、ひとつ間違えれば一般市民を巻き込む大惨事になりかねないことから、CHP(カリフォルニア・ハイウェイ・パトロール)アカデミーでは、人格テストはもちろん、徹底したドライビング・テクニックとコンバット・シューティングの訓練を実施し、技術を完璧にマスターした者だけが、CHPオフィサーを名乗ることが許されます。 人道的な側面から.357マグナム弾を使用しなかったカリフォルニア・ハイウェイ・パトロールの隊員が携帯するリボルバーは、6インチのM68、または4インチのM67のどちらかのモデルに限定されていました。支給されるカートリッジも速く真っ直ぐ飛ぶ.38spl+P+弾以外は使わないという条件でした。 中でも1977年に誕生した6インチのM68は、CHPの要望で開発されたモデルであり、丈夫な.357mag専用フレームに、38spl用シリンダーを組み合わせ、当時存在しなかったエジェクターロッドを覆うシュラウド付き6インチバレルを新規で製作した特注品でした。 1983年にはLAPDにも同モデルが採用されますが、いずれも民間には市販はされなかったことから、知名度に相反し詳細を知る人は少ないモデルとなっています。 今回この特別なM68 C.H.P.を、発火式モデルガンでモデルアップしました。70年代の特徴であるバレルピンやサイドプレート側のSWマークのほか、フレームには側面の「CHP」の刻印、ヨーク裏面のシリアルナンバーと、オーバースタンプにより「66」を「68」に変更した後打ち痕など、初年度1977年の特徴を忠実に再現しています。また付属のカートリッジも当時採用されていた.38spl+Pを模したW-capカートリッジが付属します。 またガスガンと違い、今は無き『月刊Gun』誌の1978年6月号の誌面を飾ったCHPにFirst Delivery(ファースト・デリバリー:初回納入、第一回引き渡しの意)された600挺のモデルを再現!　刻印も初期納入の「C.H.P.」と省略記号も含めた文字に変更し、ガスガンでは別売りだった「アーリースピードローダーカット」の+Wightグリップを標準装備した超豪華版です! 「Treasury Load」(トレジャリー・ロード)と呼ばれる+P弾を模したWキャップカートリッジが付属。 ●仕様 全　長：2880 mm 重　量：660 g 装弾数：6 発（.38spl Wキャップ発火カートリッジ付属） ※注意※ メーカー組立時につく傷（シリンダーとシリンダーストップのスレ等）は仕様です。
