日本代购-Barrouge Napa Valley Barlow Vineyardsバーロウ ヴィンヤーズ （詳細はこちら）ラズベリージャムやブラックチェリー、プラム、甘いスパイス、タバコ、カカオ、バニラが一体となってグラスから流れ出る。この上なく熟した果実は傑出した滑らかさと深みを備え、エレガントなタンニンとナッツのようなニュアンスがフィニッシュを締めくくる。ワイナリーに因んだキュヴェ名にふさわしい、濃密さ、エレガンス、ストラクチャーを備えた複雑な赤。750mlカベルネ ソーヴィニョン、メルロー、プティ ヴェルド、カベルネ フランアメリカ・カリフォルニア・ナパナパ ヴァレーAVA赤他モールと在庫を共有しているため、在庫更新のタイミングにより、在庫切れの場合やむをえずキャンセルさせていただく場合もございますのでご了承ください。株式会社フィラディスバールージュ ナパ ヴァレー バーロウ ヴィンヤーズBarrouge Napa Valley Barlow Vineyards生産者情報バーロウ ヴィンヤーズ Barlow Vineyardsカリフォルニアを一躍世界が注目するワイン産地に押し上げたナパ・ヴァレー。マヤマカス山脈とヴァカ山脈の間に挟まれた細長い渓谷にあり、南北に約50kmに渡るこのアペラシオンは、地形や気候などの違いにより、15以上のサブ・アペラシオンに分類されている。その中で、2009年にA.V.A.が制定されたカリストガは充実した果実感を楽しむボディのしっかりとしたカベルネに最適の地区だ。カリストガはナパ・ヴァレーの最北端、谷の最も奥まった場所にある。通常、北に行くほど気候は冷涼になるように思われるが、ナパ・ヴァレーでは北上するほど、海から遠くなる、つまり冷涼な海風や霧の影響が少なくなるので暑くなる。年間降水量は最大150mmほどと突出して少なく、夏の気温は30度を超える。一方で、夜間はソノマ・カウンティから涼しい風が吹く為、夜間は夏でも11度まで下がる。この独特の気候が、ナパ・ヴァレーでも際立つ完熟度を誇る果実とフィネスが共存するワインを生むのである。また、昔からその名は知られていたが、A.V.A.に認められたのが遅かったため、価格高騰が激しいナパにおいても、お買い得なワインを見つけることができるのも魅力のひとつだ。この地に構えるバーロウは南カリフォルニアからワインを造るために移住してきたウォーレンとジャンヌ・スミス夫妻が息子のバールとともに設立したワイナリーである。果実が表に出たソフトなスタイルかつ確かなストラクチャーと長熟のポテンシャルを備えたワインが好きだという彼らにとって、カリストガは理想の土地だった。1994年に念願かなってカリストガの斜面に畑を取得。当初はワイナリーではなく、栽培家になるつもりだったため、ワインは家族や友人間で楽しむためだけに造っていた。しかし、ホワイトホール・レーンの設立者であり、ジャッズ・ヒルを手掛けるカベルネの名手アート・フィンケルシュタインが畑を絶賛。「この畑は風味に満ちた傑出したフルボディを生む。自家消費ではなく一般に向けて販売するべきだ」という彼の言葉は、スミス一家を動かした。当時、畑の一部がフィロキセラに冒されブドウを収穫することができなかったため、生産できるワインには限りがあったが、1997年に初めて25ケースのみを一般に向けて販売したところ即完売。ワイン生産者としては慎ましいスタートだったが、「皆が楽しんで飲めるワイン」を目指し、畑を整備し、再植樹を行った。日中暖かく、夜間は涼しいというカリストガのミクロクリマの利点を活かしたワインを造るべく、栽培にはサステイナブル・アグリカルチャーを採用。醸造は、フランシス・フォード・コッポラ・ワイナリーの醸造ディレクターを務めるコリー・ベックが担当している。現在も育てたブドウの85％を他のワイナリーに供給しているため、最近までロバート・パーカーも知らなかったという秘密の銘醸。ナパ・ヴァレーに求める凝縮した果実とリッチなボディを備えたワインを卓越したコストパフォーマンスの高さで世に送り出すバーロウは、ナパ・カベルネの知られざる優良生産者である。
