日本代购-1994年、蔵元から直輸入を始めて1年経った頃のことです。 ボルドーの北東部に位置するフロンサックという、当時ワイン産地としてはあまりメジャーではなかった地区に、「ネゴシアン*を通さない上、なかなかワインを譲ってくれないが、地元では密かに話題になっているシャトーがある」と知人から聞きつけ、早速訪ねてみました。 ※フランスのボルドーでは、ほとんどのシャトーが「ネゴシアン」と呼ばれる仲買人を通じて商取引を行っています。 当主のエルヴェさんに話を聞いてみると、フロンサック産ワインの品質を向上させる為、自分のシャトーだけでなく地域全体の畑の品質向上にも取り組んでいるとのこと。しかし、頑固そうでとっつきにくそう、というのが第一印象でした。 試飲したワインは、グラン・クリュにも負けない程のコクはあるものの、まだ硬い。「時間を置けばもっと良くなるのに、年代物はネゴシアン経由でなければ輸入は無理か・・・」と思っていたら、奥のワインカーヴに案内してくれました。そこには何と、10年前の素晴らしい年号のワインが熟成されていました。 「ネゴシアンに売らないで取っておいたんだ・・・あなたたちのような人が来るのを待っていたんだよ。」と、ニコっと笑った笑顔がとても優しく、頑固ではなく、恥ずかしがり屋だということがわかったのです。 当社が開催しているワイン＆酒フェスティバル『蔵の祭典』の2回目から日本にも来ていただけるようになり、ヴィノスやまざきの先代の山崎巽とも意気投合。まるで親戚のような家族ぐるみのお付き合いが始まりました。 新しいお店が出来た時は自ら店頭に立って試飲販売をし、当店の取引ワイナリーの引き抜きがあった時には他の蔵元を説得してとどまらせてくれることもありました。『蔵の祭典』で知り合った他の地域の生産者に、自分の親友であったワイン醸造コンサルタント（1級シャトーの有名コンサルタント）を紹介してくれるなど、本当に人間として素晴らしいエルヴェさんと、その息子のトーマ。 今では、昔と変わらず骨格がありながらも、豊かな果実味に溢れ、早くからでも飲みやすいワインになりました。 ワイン漫画『神の雫』で紹介されても、かの有名なシャトー・ペトリュスと同等評価をとっても高ぶらない・・・評論家ではなくお客様に飲んでほしいという想いから、有名な評論家のオファーは断りヴィノスのお客様のためにワインを届けてくれる・・・今もなお、私たちを感動させるワインを造ってくれる、これこそ真のグランヴァンだと思うシャトーです。 豊富にあるはずの酸味が圧倒的な果実味に隠れてしまうほどのボリュームとタンニン、とけこんだ樽香。長期熟成は必須なほどのインパクトです！ ■商品名 シャトー・ムーラン・オーラロック 2011 ■商品名（原語） CHATEAU MOULIN HAUT-LAROQUE AC FRONSAC 2011 ■生産国・地域 フランス・ボルドー ACフロンサック ■蔵元名 シャトー・ムーラン・オー・ラロック ■セパージュ メルロー65％、カベルネ・フラン20％、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨン10％、マルベック5％ ■タイプ・味わい 赤・コクありボルドーの「ワインクレージー」が強烈に放つ衝撃ワインのヴィンテージ。豊かな果実味と樽からくる香ばしい香り。
