日本代购-ド・グレンデルとの出会いは2015年。日本で有名なワイン専門家の方から、「南アフリカにとにかく品質が素晴らしい蔵元がある！」とご紹介いただいたのがきっかけでした。 ド・グレンデルは、南アフリカの南西海岸沿いにある港町ケープタウンにあるワイナリー。現地のテイスティングルームに入ると、その品質の高さを証明するかのように、様々なコンクールで金賞を受賞した際の賞状が壁一面に並んでいました。しかも、地元の小さなコンクールなどではなく、国際的に有名かつ厳しい審査基準を設けるコンクールばかり。当時現地を訪れた買付隊が「これまで見てきたワイナリーの中でも、世界で最もたくさんの賞を受賞したワイナリーのひとつかもしれない」と驚いたほど…。 そして、現地での交流を経て、すっかり意気投合。オーナーのグラーフさんからの「直接お客様に自分達のワインを知ってもらえる特別な機会に、ぜひ参加させて欲しい」と強い要望もあったことで、ヴィノスやまざきが2年に一度開催している大試飲会『蔵の祭典』への参加が実現しました。 レストランのソムリエやお客様に振舞うと、その美味しさに発売する前にも関わらず高い評価をいただき、お客様の声に応える形で直輸入がスタートしたのです。 グラーフさん一家は、曾祖父がケープタウンの市長を、祖父が市議会議員を務めるなど、代々地元ケープタウンの名士として知られています。もともとは農場を営んでいましたが、地元の名門ステレンボッシュ大学を卒業した現オーナーのグラーフさんが、「この土地は、ぶどう栽培に最適だ」と確信し、徹底的に土壌の調査を実施。父を説得し、1999年にぶどうの樹を植え始めました。 彼の情熱に打たれ、当時南アフリカの有名ワイナリーで醸造をしていたチャールズ・ホプキンス氏が、創業当初からワイン造りに参加。豊かな自然の中で育ったぶどうから生み出されたワインは、国内外で高い評価を受けるようになったのです。 その味わいは、自然なぶどうの味わいを全面に表現しています。 海まで7kmと近いため、涼しい海流から吹く風が、健康的なぶどうを育みます。テーブルマウンテンを望むタイガーバーグの高台で造られるワインは、凝縮感のある果実味を持ちつつ、適度な酸を含み、飲み易いのが特徴です。 しっかりとした酸をもち、長期熟成も可能となるこだわりワイン、是非お試しあれ。 ほんのり緑がかった黄色に、マンダリンなど柑橘系果実やハーブ系のような、典型的なソーヴィニヨン・ブランの豊かな香り。果実味と酸味のバランスが絶妙で、豊かな味わいが長く続きます。ミネラル感も豊富で、食事と相性の良い一本です。 ■商品名 ド・グレンデル ソーヴィニヨン・ブラン ■商品名（原語） DE GRENDEL SAUVIGNON BLANC ■生産国・地域 南アフリカ タイガーバーグ ■蔵元名 ド　グレンデル ■品種 ソーヴィニヨン・ブラン ■タイプ・味わい 白・すっきり南アフリカの冷涼な地域のぶどうから造る爽やか白！
